Wir sind eine 6-köpfige Familie, Andreas und Babette mit Kindern Karin, Petra, Erika und Thomas.

We are a family of 6: parents Andreas and Babette and our children Karin, Petra, Erika and Thomas.

Andreas, geboren 1963, ist gelernter Landwirt. Babette ist 1964 geboren und gelernte Bäuerin. Karin mit Jahrgang 1988 ist gelernte Kauffrau und studiert momentan Tourismus an der HTW Chur. Petra, geboren 1989, arbeitet als Dipl. Pflegefachfrau HF im Spital Grabs und Erika mit Jahrgang 1995 erlernt den Beruf als Köchin in der Spitalküche. Thomas, Jahrgang 1998, besucht die Sekundarschule in Grabs.

Andreas, born in 1963 and Babette, born in 1964, are skilled farmers. Daughter Karin born in 1988, is a business professional, who started a bachelor degree in Tourism. Daughter Petra, born 1989, is a nurse at the hospital in Grabs, where daughter Erika, born in 1995, is in training to become a cook. Son Thomas, born in 1998, attends the secondary school
in Grabs.

Bauernhof / Farm

Unser Hof umfasst 26 Hektaren, wobei sich ein Grossteil des Landes auf 1000 Metern über Meer befindet. Im Stall stehen im Schnitt 50 Stück Vieh, ein Grossteil davon in der Vertragsaufzucht. Die Milch, welche in die Grabser Molkerei geliefert wird, kommt teilweise als Butter, Jogurt und Käse auf den Tisch. Die Sommermonate verbringt das Jungvieh auf der Alp Gamperfin und Engi am Grabserberg. Die Kühe versorgen wir im Sommer auf dem Maiensäss, wobei zwei Kühe auf der Buchser Alp Malbun gesömmert werden.

Our farm covers 26 acres on three levels of the mountain; most of the property being 1000 m above sea (the 2nd level). Because Nature provides grass for feeding at different altitudes as the seasons progress, our farm consists of housing and barns on these three levels. On an average, we have 50 cows and calves in the barns. Most calves are purchased for the purpose of breeding. The milk, which we deliver to our dairy in Grabs, will find its way back to our table in the form of butter or cheese. Most of our calves are taken to the highest level on the alpine meadow of “Gamperfin”  and "Engi" on Grabserberg, during the summer, where the grass grows last. Two cows also stay at the third level on the alpine meadow “Malbun” in Buchs; those cows are specifically designated for the production of milk used for cheese and butter. The most cows, however, remain at the middle level, where they are more accessible for milking twice daily.
